“The Pleiades” was the name given to the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione, in Greek Mythology. Maia was the eldest of the daughters, and said to be the most beautiful.

Before Avant-Garde Akita’s was a twinkle in the eye, there was a deep rooted love and passion for the breed. That love and passion led to the purchase of Maia.

It was perfectly clear from the beginning that Maia is happiest at home with the family. Whether it is playing around in the kitchen with Michael and Sal N., or curled up on the floor (wrapped in her favorite blanket) watching football with Daddy,...Maia’s place is in the house.
